Ray Dalio ist seit Jahrzehnten einer der Top-Leute im Hedge-Fund-Geschäft, der in diesem Buch tiefe Einblicke in sein Leben gemäß seines Prinzips "Radical Transparency" gibt. Und auch das Buch ist von entsprechender Qualität, die man von ihm gewohnt ist. Doch das Problem liegt, meiner Meinung nach, nicht in der 1. Hälfte bzw. an den ersten 200 Seiten des Buches, sondern an dem restlichen Inhalt.Man hätte das Buch ohne Aufwand um 200 - 250 Seiten kürzen können (ohne Emotionen, Gefühl, Inhalt oder sonstiges zu verlieren), da in der 2. Hälfte (Work Principles) letztlich nur die Inhalte der ersten Hälfte (Life Principles) auf einen größeren Rahmen und andere Menschen übertragen werden. Deswegen kommt es einem oft vor, als wiederhole er ein und denselben Punkt ca. 10 Mal, sodass man ab der 2. Hälfte des Buches weniger Spaß am Lesen hat, als in der 1. Hälfte, und deswegen die 2. Hälfte regelrecht überfliegt.Trotz dieses wichtigen Einschnitts kann man aus Ray Dalio`s Buch sehr viel wertvolle Tipps mitnehmen, vor allem da er seine Thesen sehr gut belegt und außerdem auch eine Vielzahl an echten Methoden bzw. Technologien beschreibt, die bei Bridgewater eingesetzt werden, um seine Principles auch in Taten umzusetzen (z.B. Apps/Software wie Issue Logs, Dot Collector, Pain Button, etc.). Solange man das Buch mit diesem Wissen beginnt, kann man nicht negativ überrascht werden.
The book is is certainly useful in making clear how important it is to be consistent on your decisions by having principles to guide them. The explanation why the principles stated are good is simply because ‘they make sense’ and because Bridgewater is successful, which of course, is no strong argument when evaluating a process. Furthermore, most of the principles are repeated throughout the book, making it unnecessarily long.In resume, I like the book and I agree with all the principles, but I gave it only 2 because of the 2 points I mentioned above.
Das Buch ist super. Zuerst erzählt der Autor über sein Leben und welche Probleme und Hindernisse es gab und wie er damit umgegangen ist. Der mittlere Teil beinhaltet die Life Principles, allgemeine Prinzipien wie man den Widrigkeiten des Lebens begegnen kann. Der letzte und größte Teil dreht sich um die Arbeit (Work Principles). Alles sehr schön geschrieben und erläutert. Durch die Einteilung in Unterpunkte geht der Rote Faden auch nichz verloren. In der Mitte gibt es eine Art cheat sheet mit allen Prinzipien zusammengefasst. Alles in allem sehr Konzentriertes Wissen aus der Feder eines der erfolgreichsten Menschen unserer Zeit. Kann das Buch nur weiterempfehlen.

Die Prinzipien von Ray Dalio sind aufgrund eigener persönlicher Erfahrungen entwickelt worden. Sie sind authentisch, ohne jedoch den Anspruch zu erheben, für andere Menschen die gleiche Wertigkeit zu haben. Ja er weist in seinem Buch gerade darauf hin, daß die Leser seine Prinzipien nicht 1 zu 1 auf die eigenen Leitlinien umsetzen sollen, wenn dies der jeweiligen Persönlichkeit nicht entsprechen sollte.Allerdings ist aus meiner Sicht die Darstellung seiner Prinzipien zu langatmig, zu ausführlich - mit vielfach wiederholten Aussagen - ausgefallen. Er hätte diese Gedanken wesentlich straffer und effizienter niederschreiben können.
Dalio brilliantly systematizes not only his hedge fund's decision-making processes but also job assignments on an open and objective basis. Reading "Principles" taucht me to better understand others as well as myself. I only wish I had read it much earlier.
Der Inhalt ist tadellos, aber das Buch ist falsch gebunden. Das heißt ich die Seiten sind um 180 grad falsch herum (über Kopf).
Ich habe das Buch etwa zu 50% gelesen. Mir gefaellt der Stil in dem es geschrieben ist, und die Informationen ueber die Entwicklung der Investmentfirma des Autoren.
